1st Live Omaha H/L event

Well just got home today from good old Dover, Delaware. Man nothing to do in that town. Any how drove up for the Spring Poker Classic (jokeament). I knew when i got there that this was gonna be shitty when I go to pre reg for the next days o8b event, and 20mins into the 3pm 6 handed nlh event that day there were yup 6 runners. I wasnt happy. But whatever I drove got a room I am staying. So go to room relax about 7pm i decide to go to play some cash 1/2 nlh. Wow had to wait for a seat because both of the tables are full. Yup 2 whole tables, anyhow long story short start having a few cocktails tables the biggest nitfest except for 2 agrro donks that love the over bet. I buy in for 200 dont play much get A10 os on the button make it 12 bucks 336 two dimond flop i fire get flatted , turn 5 he cks again I fire he flats like 40 on turn. River is Q of dimonds now that is the card I wanta see I think. Most likey he has some hand like 77-99 or a fd, but I have the ace of dimonds so with like a lil over 100 in the pot I fire he thinks and folds 77 face up i show the bluff since this table is so tight.  That bluff made me just rape the same dude later on. Fast forward i am in the game for 200 get to 100 cause of people calling 14 pre with a5os vs my aq. I top off 200 more so in for 400 total, bleed down to 200 again then the dude I bluffed before is in a 6 way limped pot. I am on button with A3 of clubs flop is 233 checks to me i know betting here with 12bucks in the pot is bad turn is a king which i like i am hope n that someone bets it so i can put in a value raise. Nope I decide to check turn is river is great 2 so board is 233 k 2 dude i bluffed bets out 18 into 12 leaving him like 80 behind, gets folded to me i snap pick up a stack for 105 he thinks for 3 secs before calling and telling me he had 88. Lol love it.  So i go card dead for about a hr dont play much then the hand comes up.  I am utg with KK raise it 13 and get 3 callers i am like this will be fun. Mind you I am on my 5th cocktail now so table thinks i am a nutjob cause they all know each other and play together everyday. I get a flop of KQQ wow really i am like well i am not making much here. I check because after i raise and get all those callers i was like opps this is where it gets nuts guy to my left who put on 150 pre b4 with 89 of clubs whom I bought a beer for for that one only loose player there. We had been talking nice guy we will call him guy 1 and dude to his left is guy 2. I check guy 1 bets 20 guy 2 makes it 50. I hollywood for like 20 secs and flat. Guy 1 makes it 100 guy 2 shipps like 300 I get so excited I  snap ship 442 in and guy 1 snap calls 400. WEEEEE  I show my hand they both are pissed and both roll over  QT yes not kq not aq not even qj both didnt think for a sec and think they were beat. So ship the biggest 1/2 pot of my life 1162 wee.  Get up an hr latter booking a 740 win.  Go to bar have dinner sleep for like 4 hours. Get go to play limit o8b 120.00 buy in event got 16 runners what a joke. Nothing went right in the beginning 1st two levels got so many A2kx and ak3x but didnt win a pot. Never got above 6k starting stack untill we were 9 handed. At one point 200/400 level i had 1100.  Built up stack to like 16k or so about avg only 96k in play. I get a269 with two dimonds on button I was gonna raise it pre but there were like 5 limpers i limp assuming all the low cards are gone. The bb raises everyone calls this is at the 400/800 level i think not sure. The flop is QJT with two dimonds, I like it bb bets goes everyone calls then sb raises everyone calls so I know i need that dimond. Boom turn 8 of dimond, and gets checked to me I bet and everyone is hates this card but everyone calls so at this point i think i am good cause they all have each others outs.  I was right black 9 on river and cked to me again and no one calls i take someone out win a 25.6kpot have 35k now 8 handed weeee. Just keep playing tight won a few scoops chipped up to like 50k 3 handed. Was supposed to pay 1st 1009 and 2nd 543 but 3 handed we are at 3k6k level and both dudes are good players. We decide to give 3rd 150 out of the prize pool. So we get hu i have 55k to 41k at 4k 8k we made a deal I took 750 and 2nd took 650. I think thats a good deal. I def didnt need to agree to cut bubble in but since it wasnt a big prize pool anyhow and i was super hungry and tired. Screw it.  So nice trip won about 200 playing tables and after buyin and tips made 1360 from poker. So nice start to these live tournys. Man they play this game so bad live hopefully next week the h/l events i play get more runners.

Mini Ftops

Well traded a few stars for ftp today to play in the shit show we call the mini ftops 26.00 ko plo hi 50k.  Didn't get anything going. Played 6 sattys to it costing me the buy in and won two of them so played it for free at least.  Took the evening off and decided to play this rush plo hi 2 rebuy turbo.  From the beginning I had a 100 bb plus stack then late its short never ever had any chips. Due to a double ko 5 handed by other guy i end up with 3rd good for 345.00 from the 10.00 buy in so i will take it.  Seems like not playing a lot of volume for me has been working.  Played live 3 times in 3 weeks won every session.  Funny thing is 2 times that I have played cash live and I have only played it 2 times i am all in on the 1st hand i sit down to the table to play.   This week it was thanks to two red aces utg+1 and repopped utg raiser and still got two callers gotta love 1/2 cash.  End up shipping on turn and winning a 450 pot with a board of  jtt 7 j. somehow my ship on turn that was pot sized didn't make him wanta fold kq. I thought for sure on river i was dead ha.  So I think i am gonna stick to playing live once a week and when i feel like it online.  Going to be playing 8 live events locally in the next 45 days all omaha either limit 08b or plo hi except for a nlh heads up event.  So hopefully I can bink one or two of those.  Last event I will play is gonna be the 340.00 wsop circuit event so thats the won to bink for sure.  Until next time gl to all!

Live poker thank you!

Ha hate to say it but after that shit show called pokerstars this year Thank You Live Poker!  Anyhow long story short last week went to play 65.00 donkament live mtt busted out like 40th out of 161 peeps ran tt into kk, aj on jack high flop, and 44 into AA vs same dude.  Anyhow went to cash tables with 170 for 1/2 nlh 1.5 hrs later left with 710 yawn easy game. Today woke up late to meet cousin for the live noon 65.00 mtt oh well reg 45 mins late is gl.  128 peep chopped it 7 ways for 750 I will take it.  Few more days like this and will for sure be playing the $1500 Plo Hi/Low at wsop this june.  Good news is this casnio 1hr from home is having a poker series in april already took off work to play in 5 events.  Playing both plo hi events only 100 and 150 buyin , both limit h/l omaha events 100 and 150 and the 150 nlh hu event.  Will be fun i think for sure with the plo his being the 2nd event on sats at 4pm alot of dead money from the noon nlh events will come in for it.

Aside from poker the budget has went very well this year paying all my bills for march now and having a extra 2k set aside def ahead of schedule.  The gym hasnt went that well only have been a hand full of times this year but a new bet with a co worker def helps out so back to that tomorrow.  With the budget i really only eat junk food once a week and have went over two notches in my belt so far this year so def feels good to loose a lil weight.  Anyhow i will update this thing later gl everyone in poker and life!

This Poker Game is a Funny Thing!

Well after my little pity party last night on why poker, I have found out that the poker Gods are sarcastic.  Yes After a good showing with mtts yesterday I thought today I would play just them again.  Well nothing was going that good for me I reg for the 3.40 nl 08b and didn't notice it wasn't a guarantee so myself and 27 other hopefulls sit down to play this stupid thing for yes $30 US dollars going to 1st place.  Well with about 6 other mtts going I didn't pay much attention to this thing in fact had like 800 chips at T 50/100 level and boom like 20 mins later I had 10k.  So took that down ha.  So I was also in the 4.40 plo h/l and for h/l big field 650 peeps.  And same thing there in one level went from 4k to 80k heaters are nice.  Played tight yet very aggro since I had  a big chip lead. at one point I was cl with 240k and other then the 2nd place dude with 210k (yes he was seated right next to me theres that sarcastic poker god thing again) no one at our table had more then 30k makes for easy pokers.  Long story short 3 handed and within 4 bb's of each other I say lets chop 350 each and leave 57 to play for.  I mean 1st was 488 , 2nd 354 and 3rd was 280.  So they say sure we chop and hu I have 1.5m to 400k and boom I find myself down to 280k.  Well I def out played him and ended up shipping it.  I know its not a big score but it answered my question on Why Poker? Because it feels so damn good to beat 650 others. And not to mention def helped my bankroll that has been dwindling every single day this month.

On another note a co-worker called today and wants to create some plan for use to both get to the gym. I am thinking if we do not make our scheduled 3 workouts a week then we have to give the other 50 bucks. Hopefully that will get my ass back in the gym. Gonna put a workout mix together on my ipod and try to make a workout plan.

Why Poker?

Well as I sit here nursing my last beat with a nice tall vodka cocktail I ask myself why poker?  I mean the game that I once fell in love with seems to be more like going to the dentist then fun anymore!  I hadn't played a few days and since I needed to get my shopping and cooking done for the week I didn't play first thing in the morning.  So tonight I play the the 5r NL Omaha H/L and man that thing is fast 10 min levels.  Well never got really any cards but somehow I wake up its bubble time 81 peeps 12 get paid.  I am sitting ok with like 15 bb's or so ready to bubble this finial table too like the $22 plo h/l the other week.  Next thing I know boom finial table.  Thanks to my boy tollthebell bubbling the finial table.  Thanks man I needed more then you!  He's had a great week playing great man keep it up.  Anyhow done with the shoutouts he's the dude that started me out playing h/l.  So never get that many hands had to steal when I could wasn't ever all in till I had like 3 bb's left and doubled up doubled again and boom I am back in it.  Till the jackass that has been stealing every pot pre raises my bb and I snap call with AAT9 and obv his AK45 hits two pair on river boom I am gone.  After I pick up my headphones from across the floor noticing that I am angry as hell I ask myself WHY POKER?  I mean I never get upset never have a temper but this game makes me mad.  So why the hell do I play a game that never ends, I mean u never "beat poker".  Sure you can beat the rake and make money but there's never a end point.  I don't know I guess having the worse month ever and never ever having a winning day will make you think like this.  I mean this is my second winning day of the month and wow four hours for $10 american yup US.  Wow.  Ok end rant I am over it. So thats my poker update. Poker can suck it!

On another note other things are going great work started off shitty this week but ended nice last night made $450 b4 I had to tip out so not bad for 6 hours of work.  Walking home with $325 makes me happy.  Ha and as far as my budget this month I have covered all my bills by the 22nd so with last night and the 5 nights this week coming up that will be all savings!  I am so happy so should def save like 1300-1500 this month.  Seeing that makes me stick to it.  Need to go the gym this week still have not started that.  But hopefully I will this week.  Anyhow good luck out there if there is anyone that actually reads this b.s.

Gonna Start This Thing

I have been thinking about starting a blog for about six months now, and I guess this is finally the time.  So a little about myself I am a 28 yr old guy that lives in Maryland.  I wait tables at a fine dining restaurant I have been doing this for about 6 years now. Call myself lost because I have no idea what I want to do in life.  I found this job and even though there are many things that the average person would hate about it. It's def a good fit for me.  I give up weekends and holidays in the pursuit of money.  I am fine with that I make on avg. an hour double what I could find anywhere else. Given I haven't finished college and not having a clue what I would like to study I enjoy what I do.  So thats about work prob won't here me say much more in future blogs talking about that I mean its food not saving lives.

So then theres the part time poker player.  Well this year I told myself that I would take poker seriously and try to have some success in the world of online poker.  I have played poker for about five and a half years now it wasn't till the last 15 months or so I learned that I can be a winning player.  So many times I would deposit 50 bucks online and run it up to a few hundred or sometimes a few thousand and then get into games that were way above my bankroll and shoot it all off in one night (usually after drinking).  So in the end of Oct. 2010 I had a friend send me 100 bucks on stars and decided that I play only sit n goes and build it up.  Well after a bad start and only 20 bucks left I buckled down and turned things around.  Over the next 4 weeks I turned it into a few hundred and ran like god made a few battle of planets and got a few hundred in bonus money for that.  Then I proceed to chunk off bonus in cash games, which for some reason I can not beat online. I mainly play No Limit Omaha H/L.  I have no idea when or how I made the change from Texas Hold'em to Omaha but once I 1st played it I was hooked.  And having a few friends that are very successful h/l players I got alot of help from them.  In mtt's I have better PLO hi results but sngs H/L runs so much more often then plo so I would say 90% of what I play now is H/L.  So fast foward to Jan started with a br of 1050 and just two weeks in was down to 400. Now being the new man that I am, I moved down and am currently playing nothing higher then .05/.10 plo hi cash buying in short for 40bbs (currently only level cash I can beat) and no sngs higher then the 6.75 level for now. Not gonna move back up to the 13.50 nl08 kos till I have 900 in br again.  So basically this blog will be about my progress of lack there of my quest to get supernova on stars.  And make enough by June to pay for entry and vacation to Vegas for the $1500 Wsop Plo H/L event.  With some cash to blow I think i need to make around 4500 take 3500 for trip and leave myself a 1k br.  So thats the goal for poker right now I have been playing no more then 12 sngs at once and being basically a nit in the games and over the last 2 days it is working.

Next trying to be a "healthy" lost man.  Well that is a struggle that I deal with everyday.  I am currently 6 ft tall and weigh 330.  Its the most I have ever been.  Due to the last 6years of staying out late partying eating horrible drinking too much has gotten me here.  I have been overweight most of my life. But after high school I met a buddy that got me into lifting and eating clean.  For about 3 years I would workout six days a week.  I felt so much better both physically and mentally. Went from 290 to 195 in about a year and half. But I hated my job as a manger in a grocery store thought I wanted to be a personal trainer.  Well got a  part time job working in a gym and that was the start of me not working out anymore.  I thought it would be great gig making 25/hr and working out. Well you get paid for what you sell, and since I was the new kid on the block I didn't get many chances to get many new clients. So the money wasn't there for me and I def didn't get along with the management there either. So I would quit working out due to working two jobs that as the days went on I hated more and more. Trying to have a social life which included too many trips to the bars.  And it seems like the weight came on so slow but boom one day you just wake up and I am like what the hell happened to me.

 So this year I have put myself on a strict budget to save some money to get rid of old debts I have hanging over my head. In the past I have spent way too much on eating out so this year I outlined a budget and knowing that I don't have much money for dining out makes me cook.  The funny thing is I only started cooking at the point in my life when I was training and eating a lot of complex carbs, lean proteins, and veggies. So from a financial standpoint I will also help my overall health.  I joined a gym last year but only went a handful of times each month. So this year my goals are gonna be to workout 3 - 4 times a week no more crazy 6 days. Thats me with most things in my life I am either 75% kinda guy or 125%.  One thing I need to focus on is balance in my life.  I have done really well with not drinking like I used to over the last 2 weeks I may have had 6 drinks or so which is very good ha. Considering that was a normal night for so many years like 5 nights a week. The only thing about eating "clean" as I call is I truly live food, and love to cook. So I know it won't be easy but I have to change now why I am still young enough so I don't end up dead or with a lot of health problems.  

So hopefully this wasn't too long of  a read and please excuse my poor writing skills never was a english guy at all.  It's funny cause a lot of the poker player's blogs I read most want to get into better shape.  Some are overweight some are underweight it seems like a common thing that most want to improve.  Well since we all love winning and are manic to play this crazy game anyone out there that reads this that wants someone to check in on each other workout/diet progress let me know. I know for sure it would help me.
